My memories with Hilton
My name is Maxx - I am Hilton's 10 year old cousin. These are some of the words that describe Hilton when I think of him: adventurous, brave, and inspiring. When we went to Mont Cascade Water park I was too scared to go on the big black and yellow ride but Hilton helped me to ride all the other rides including the "Vortex" and "Black magic". Hilton has inspired me to be brave, be adventurous and be inspiring AND I mean every word I say. I will not joke on this matter. I love Hilton a lot. I really do wish that I would have more good, no great, no excellent, memories with Hilton.
I really really really really really really thought Hilton was going to make it out. I seriously feel that I have a heart that... well...just...BROKE. Every night now I pray that he will be happy where he is right now. I think Hilton lived a good life because he had the best family ever! and Hilton always will! I am glad I got to visit Hilton at the hospital before he died. Even though I did not see him it felt good to be there for him. I believe that the snow we had on Halloween was from Hilton because it lasted one day and because Hilton was a terrific snowboarder and skier (Hilton taught me some moves one time at Mont Tremblant).
I wish I was brave enough to cry.
I LOVE (AND MISS) HILTON!!!!!!

From the desk of jancie
Dear Tim,
Today, it hit me. I walked into the office looked at Hilton's messy space that was supposed resemble a desk . *#@?! He's not coming back. I'd see him on a Monday with various road rashes, gashes and bashes of the previous weekend. I'd tell him he looked like a "week old banana", He'd go into great detail of his experience grinning from ear to ear the entire time. Me shaking my head. Hilti called me Jancie ( Tim had a ten year habit of mispelling my name so Jancie it was. Hilton thought that was really funny, Tim not so much.) I really watched him grow and find his niche this past summer running the back shop, I gained a new respect for him. (Not that I would ever admit it to him) He always offered his help. No questions. He was just there.

The connaught brat pak by Taylor McKay
A flash back to the good old days:
Growing up on Connaught was definitely the best childhood a kid could ask for. There are countless games, stories, and memories that I couldn't fit onto this page even if i tried. Some memorable moments include the following:
I remember one New Years eve us kids were hanging out at Robin and Gary's and we were blindfolding eachother and making eachother eat gros combinations of foods. Hilton thought it would be funny to feed me cherry lip smackers on a cracker.. yum.
I remember playing on the Byrne's front lawn and getting into a huge argument with Hilton and Kat about where babies come from. It ended with me crying and running home. (I'm telling you going to a Catholic school messes with your mind sometimes!)
Kat and I were always closer friends but when Kat refused to play pokemon with me Hilton never refused.
Katherine and I were not to touch or play with Hilton's race car track without him there but it was seriously my favourite toy in the house!
I could probably still get from my backyard to my front yard without the motion-sensor light coming on (the infamous sneak attack game!) and remember all the best hiding places for a game of cops and robbers.
I'm sure any of the connaught avenue kids would agree with me when I say that our childhood wouldnt have been the same without Hilton and it has been an honour to have been his friend. Here's to the good times we shared, the memories we made, and the friends we will keep in our hearts forever. The Connaught avenue Brat Pack won't be the same without you Hilton!
We love you.

Starmans...
I remember running into Hilton a few times after I left Stadia but one time in particular was at a Tim Hortons up at Dufferin and Rutherford. I always liked to give Hilton a hard time and think he enjoyed it. This particular time I was nagging him about slacking off at the donut shop and "what are you really supposed to be doing now"? He told me he had to go and collect some money from someone who was way past due. I laughed a bit thinking of that "baby face" Hilton knocking on someone's door and demanding payment. Then it occurred to me what a typical "Byrne" he was. Take the bull by the horns and do what needs to be done.
I am truly sorry for your loss.
